Hi everyone,
Before deciding whether i should re-home little monroe or not im trying to assess my money situation.
So firstly he needs a decent cage, what would be best for him? As he cant have levels im guessing the cage should have a bigger ground cover to make up for it, i also think bars would be bad for him aswell as if he climbs he could hurt himself. I cant use an aquarium because i have no where to put it sadly, his cage will be put on top of my crab tank so it cant be too heavy.
My max budget is gonna be 40 atm, and thats a push. so any ideas are much appreciated thanks xxx

I and my OH have been debating a new furry family member for a while now, and since it looks like we will be in the same house til at least next year now we are thinking about getting another dog in the next few months. We are after a smaller dog as I couldn't handle three big dogs on walks, and something that is happy to potter around the house but still energetic on walks. The only breed that comes to mind is a Jack Russell as I'd like something I can compete with in Flyball, agility and freestyle, but aside from a Foster dog who was with me for a week I've had no experience with the breed..and since I'll be doing the majority of the training (basic and advanced) I'd like to know what I'd be getting into!

So if anyone has or has had a Jack..what are they like to train? And as pets in general?

Hello everyone!
How are you all doing? Thought I'd stop by and update you all on Bear; I had planned to start this earlier but I have been quite ill recently (woe is me lol)
Some of you may be aware of my dilemma with Bear's gender, however I think we've got to the bottom of things (pun not intended) and it turns out little Bear is in fact a boy!

With that aside, I think I need to buy Bear some toys to make up for the gender mishap I hope he isn't too upset with me... I do apologise Bear *hug* the toys he does have he doesn't seem to be interested in (typical) he mainly has tunnels which haven't taken his fancy. I have noticed he likes to climb his cage's bars, and likes to try and climb anything he can get his paws on... typically this means the barriers I make so he doesn't escape the play area.. he's a cheeky hamster.

What I'm really asking (boy, have I waffled or what?! ) is if any of you have some climbing toys (jungle gyms, climbing frames etc) you'd recommend I buy for Bear? Or if you have any DIY ideas I could work from? I have £10 in my own money I'd happily spend on him and I'm sure my parents wouldn't mind adding a little more if necessary (they're too good to me really).

Ooh, one last thing, (and if you've made it this far, me and Bear applaud you!) what wheels would you recommend for Syrians? I feel mean having not given Bear the opportunity to run in a wheel (though he does have his ball and playtime to compensate) I just want to give him another toy to help him run off extra energy he has at night time so he doesnt get bored. I'd preferably like a quiet wheel (im sure we all would! Lol) as his room is upstairs near everyone else's.

WHEW think I'm done with my essay here. Thanks for reading everyone! look forward to your suggestions.

My 1.5yr old Collie, Fly is a very intelligent dog and I struggle to keep up with her! She is already at competition level in flyball after 3 months, is starting agility soon, and knows the basics of canine freestyle (dancing with dogs - many of you have probably seen Pudsey the dog from Britain's got Talent)...which sounds silly but its great fun and you don't look AS silly if you work on it properly
I'm looking for some more tricks to teach and would like to hear which tricks everyone 'wow!''s and 'awwh!''s at as you tend to get a bit skeptical once you begin to teach them yourself
All answers appreciated, we will try anything except backflips, handstands and walking on her hind legs as Fly doesn't have the leg muscles yet...but watch this space
